Article here on what some troops to their surprise found in Fallujah

residents said the U.S-led offensive opened strains between the local insurgents and the foreigners. When a senior Zarqawi commander was found dead of a bullet to the head during the battle, many interpreted his death as the result of an insurgent execution.

Besides the commander's death, the bodies of 20 foreign fighters ao were found shot to death execution-style, military officials said.

This is good sign. Lets hope that this part of a trend.

It is not surprising to me at all. What you see as a perhaps a good sign is indicative a a tremendously divide cultural and religious country. At best, democracy will be a very radical undertaking in a country which has bitter divisions and has only known how to deal with those divisions by absolute power.

Let me be clear on this ,as to a trend I was refering to a short term trend among the terrorist and particually for alien fighters there and the tactical advantage we could exploit off it.. I hate bloodshed and killing as much as anyone. I do understand your post about the diffculties inherent in bringing democracy to Iraq. However it must be done. We have seen many hopeful signs in Iraq that this will happen. Lets just get rid of the terrorist or make them less effective and see what the people do with it then.
