A followup to yesterdays post on the proposed action of the the governing Green party in Germany to make a public Muslim Holiday. Hint its not going well. Click above for full article Excerpts below.

German opposition and government members reacted with anger Wednesday to calls by the Greens party - which serve in Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder's coalition - for establishing a Muslim holiday in the country.
Schroeder's Social Democrats (SPD) are markedly cool to the proposal following a failed bid earlier this month to abolish the German Unity Day holiday in a bid to boost the economy.

SPD Interior Minister Otto Schily slammed the proposed Muslim holiday as "absurd."

Nobody would dream of proposing to Saudi Arabia that they should celebrate Pentecost," noted Greens parliamentary leader Katrin Goering-Eckardt.

I posted on this item as well. I wondered aloud if perhaps the Germans finally realized the dangers posed by these radical members of the Religion of Peace™ ?

I see no problem, if you are whinging you are racist. Christmas is a public holiday, why not the end of Ramadam, I think it would promote tolerance
